FA Cool Nights Jazz Band and Music in the Mountains 2008

The Falmouth Academy Cool Nights Jazz Band took its annual Music in the Mountains tour of Northern New England. This year was the fourth consecutive year that the group has rehearsed, had workshops and classes and performed at such venues as the Indian Head Resort, Whale Tale Water Park, The Mount Washing ton Hotel and the Balsam's Resort.

Pictured here is the group under the direction of Hannah Moore and George Scharr in the Grand Ballroom of the Balsam's Hotel in Dixville Notch, NH. This hotel from the grand Victorian era is situated on 15,000 acres and is famous for the country's first election results held in their ballot room. The students received a standing ovation in the ballroom and a tour of the ballot room, which they will see again later this year on national TV at election time.
