Minutes were submitted and accepted.
TreasurerÕs Report:
Report was submitted by Norma Kelly. We are in better shape from this time last year by about $2,000. MSP
Auditions/Fees
Joe Studley asks that everyone reads the opening letter in their packet and call him if you have a question. The procedures are the same as last year.
Chris Roberts asked that everyone highlight the section that contains the festival rules. Please remind students that they cannot drive to the festival.
The fees will remain the same.
Vickie Vieira made motion that the sentence that the sentence No leaps whatsoever be changed to No more that two skips of a major third and stepwise motion. MSP
Vickie Vieira made the motion that the sentence that reads The SS exercise will be in the key of the audition piece add Except when in a minor key. MSP
Vickie Vieira made the motion to accept the sight singing as amended. MSP
Tom Farias suggested that all student participants receive a list of the rules. The rules are on the audition form, however, Mike Smith will add them to the welcome letter.
The fees will remain the same.
2006 Managers
Chorus: Barbara Elder will be the manager for the 05-06 year.
Band: Lisa Fornier-Donley will be the manager for the 05-06 year, with Christine Borning as her assistant. Tony Stevens Conductor
Orchestra: Erik Wendelken
Norma Kelley will host the String Jamboree in Dennis.
Christine Borning will host the band workshop in Bourne.
Velna Zuzick will host the choral workshop at St. Francis.
\LaVada Studley will host the Jr. Jazz workshop in Falmouth.
Mike Smith will contact the Cape Cod Times to publicize the All-Cape Sr. High School Festival.
None
There will not be a multiple percussion requirement for the All-Cape High School auditions.
Teachers new to CCMEA were welcomed.
George Scharr passed out information about a reception for music teachers sponsored by the Cape Cod Symphony. The reception will be held on Wednesday September 21, 2005 from 4-6pm at the Cape Cod Museum of Art. No RSVP is required.
George also passed out a list of educational programs sponsored by the Cape Cod Symphony.
The next meeting will be on Saturday in February 4th at All Cape High School Festival at 10am in the Barnstable High School music wing.
Chris reminded everyone that a new CCMEA president will be needed for September Õ06.
We welcomed our new MMEA president La Vada Studley.
