Audition Report

Chris Roberts thanked Vickie Vieira and Mashpee High School for hosting auditions for the last two years.  He also asked her to thank all of the students who have helped out.

Vickie would like it noted that the school that hosts the auditions is responsible for putting the medical forms in alphabetical order by school, bringing the forms to the auditions and giving them to the nurse.

Chris asked if anyone is interested in hosting auditions for the next two years.  John New said that if Ito okay to have the auditions at a middle school that he would discuss it with his principal.  DY HIGH SCHOOL is still under construction.

Host Report

Mike Smith reported that all was going well.  He added that having Shawn and Stephen on the staff made the job easier and he thanked them for doing a wonderful job.   A message of welcome from the CCMEA President has been added to the program and the program cover has a new logo. Mike thanked Bob Frazier for contributing the artwork for the program cover.

Managers Reports

Band

Christine Borning reported that everything was going well and that the students were well prepared. Chris Roberts thanked Christine for assuming the managerŐs duties at the festival for Lisa Fournier-Donley who had a baby boy during the week.

Orchestra

Kerry Wynn reported that the orchestra students were well prepared and that the conductor is great.

Chorus

Barbara Elder reported that Dr. Mack is doing a wonderful job.  There were twelve no shows and seven were basses.  If directors know that students are not going to attend would they please contact the manager so that other students who auditioned can be contacted.

Barbara asked that there be two bass rooms at auditions next year because there was a back up in the audition schedule.  Vickie Vieira added that this was the first year that there was a problem and that perhaps managers should check with Joe Studley to see how many students are auditioning on each part and plan accordingly.  Mike Smith pointed out that there was a similar problem with the saxophone room and that finding out the number of students auditioning on each voice part and each instrument was a good idea.

Jazz Band

Tom Borning let everyone know that auditions for Jazz Band are March 13th at Falmouth High School.  The festival dates remain March 29th and 30th.  The concert is at 7pm.  The conductor will be George Murphy from Foxboro.  Rose Richards will continue to host the festival at Harwich High School.  Tom is looking for any high school jazz bands that are interested in participating.
