All-Cape Jazz Festival
John Neu will contact Ned Rosenblatt to determine a
date. More publicity was suggested
for a larger audience. Discussion
occurred regarding the need for the festival to be self-sufficient
financially. It was suggested by
John Neu that the festival use the Junior Festival model and not bring in an
outside conductor in order to save expenses.
Junior Jazz Festival
George Machon organized a highly successful
concert/festival in April at Sandwich.
Five schools were in attendance.
Again, more publicity would be appreciated.

Joe Studley will
have current by-laws posted on the web site.
Fred recommends all
read over the summer with revision in mind.
LaVada Studley will receive any change recommendations
via the web:
lsbasslady@aol.com
A committee chaired
by Fred Johnson is requested to meet 1/2 hour before the September meeting to make
recommendations. Any volunteers?
New revisions to be
presented and voted upon at the February meeting.
Old Business
ASCAP/Copyright Laws - the law says do not copy and as an association we do not
permit the use of
copied music for auditions or festivals.
Issues regarding recordings
were also discussed.
New Business
New England Music Festival Association Concert in
Connecticut in 2202-2003 is scheduled
on a different date this year - it is not the All-State weekend. The South
East District web
site has a link to this association.
It was requested
that CCMEA discuss the high cost of student food for the All-Cape
Festival at the
September meeting. It is felt that
we need to cut costs somewhere.
Fred Johnson was
thanked for his years of service as President and he handed that
title to John Neu.
Next meeting: Monday September 30, 2002 - DY High
School - 7:00pm
